Pete's Story
 My family and I adopted Pete, a six year old beagle mix, from the Sacramento
County Animal Shelter. We were in need of another dog to keep our beagle company
during the day. I had been checking the shelter regularly to see if any
adoptable dogs would suit my family.
When I first saw Pete, I noticed he was different. He didn’t run to the fence or
bark when you paid him attention. Instead, Pete just wagged his tail in
anticipation, though it was obvious he wanted to be elsewhere. I began to visit
him on a regular basis, and soon fell in love with him, as did my family. Pete
has been a great new addition to our family, and we are so happy to have found
him!
