Baylee and Chloe’s Story

Photograph of Bayley and Chloe the dogs in their backyard.

Baylee (left) was received in August 1999 from the County Shelter and we call her a "farkle footed shepard" since we have no clue what she is. I picked her out as a six-week old pup on a Saturday and the following day received a call from Animal Care stating that a puppy in her same pen had Parvo disease and Baylee had been exposed. Not deterred I picked her up that afternoon and we have been together ever since. She loves to fetch balls, chase her frisbee, swim and ride with her head sticking out of my sunroof.

Chloe (right) was received five months later and was approx 1-1/2 years old. Her former caretaker was homeless and had become terminally ill so Chloe was sadly relinquished. I received Chloe through a drawing since others were also interested that day in January 2000. She's a very sweet mystery mix pup (poodle/terrier?) and was obviously well-loved. Upon first arrival she ran into the house and jumped onto the couch and plopped herself down like she was "home". She and Baylee love to romp together. Chloe nearly always has a plush toy in her mouth and her favorite place to sleep is under my bed. It's funny to hear her snore beneath me.

They're both success stories in my eyes!
