Macey's Story
Macey was adopted from the Sacramento County shelter in October
2004 by Loiss and her son William who came looking for a dog to call their
own. They found Macey in Sick Bay suffering from a skin condition. They quickly
fell in love and say:
Macey is doing great! She is fitting in with the whole family (including a
new cat Annie).
It has now been a week since Annie and Macey have been introduced
and the two of them are enjoying each other. Annie's new favorite game is to
pounce on Macey as she walks by, and Macey finds great pleasure in trying lick
the leftover food from Annie’s whiskers.
When we first told our family and friends about Macey they were shocked about
us bringing a pit bull into the house. But, it only took about two days for
Macey to settle into her new home and prove to everyone that she was not to
be stereo-typed. Macey and my two-year-old son are completely in love with
each other. My son, being the loud and busy body that most two year olds are,
has actually chased Macey around the house, pulled on her ears, given her kisses
on the mouth, and even pulled up her lips to see her teeth. Macey's response
to all the tugging, pulling, hugging, playing, kissing is MORE, MORE, MORE,
and PLEASE DON'T STOP? GIVE ME MORE ATTENTION AND LOVE. I am proud to call
her a member of our family. Her eyes may tell a story of hurt and rejections,
but her actions tell a story of love, compassion, kindness and a willingness
to please. I could not have asked for a better dog or friend. I want to thank
everyone that had worked with Macey. Thank you for keeping her for us.
All of our gratitude,
Loiss, William, Annie and Macey
and Keith, (the once reluctant boyfriend but now proud dog owner)
