Sara Ann’s Story

Photograph of sara ann. Sara Ann had been at the shelter for a very long time – almost 60 days. Though all the animal care workers loved her and said she had a great personality, no one had adopted her. She was quiet and mild mannered and didn’t put on a big show when people came to her cage.

In December 2004, a Sacramento Bee reporter came to do a story on the adoption campaign the shelter was running, called A Home for the Holidays and featured Sara Ann in her story. Claudia read the article and knew she had to come rescue Sara Ann, saying “I already have two dogs at home, one of them I got from the shelter but something told me I had to get Sara Ann.”

Sara Ann went home to meet her new family on December 22, 2004. Shelter employees were so happy that Sara Ann finally found her Home for the Holidays.
